Semester Final~ Painting Music
For my semester final we had to paint a song. I know, sounds tricky dosen't it? The ultimate goal for this final is to pick a song and therefore paint it. Painting the song meaning, painting the sound, the rhythm, beat, texture, the beat and feel to it, to express it in a acrtlic painting.
The paintings above are some of the first paintings that I did when starting out on this project. They are done in water color, and as you can see they are not as vibrant and expressive as the acrylic ones below. The one on the far left was my first one, and as you move right you see my progression in understanding the concept and idea of this assignment and moving towards reaching my goal of accomplishing that given task.
These two paintings are my practice runs to this song, Marching On, which are done with acrylics. The first one ist the song all the way through and because of that i came up with several ideas for the real deal. The one on the right is a start to a practice final of where I more wanted to go, but obviously never finished the full though process in that one...

Final Painting
8 Print Book
For this project our goal was to create a series of eight prints. These prints were to have something in all of them in common. In the end they are to come together as one book.
I had multiple ideas for this project, but on each of them I would get them all layed out but then only get so far as to how I would go about using a single block to create multiple prints of multiple pictures. So then I came up with the idea to do just one print, as a reduction print and then show each of the phases as each page.
Below Left: my original idea, but ended up too confusing Below Right: my sketch for the actuall print
